arm dances

arm dances is a gesture of touch, a gentle act of caring and a dance towards a deep sense of mutual trust. A situation where dancers listen to each other and intuitively decide when to move, step back, come together again and surrender.

The dancers move a large arm-object together, they become parts of a tableau vivant, a group of friends, embody practical workers in a museum building a sculpture, the extensions of each other's bodies - They share a body.

Slowly it becomes clear that this work is not just about moving the arm; the audience is drawn into the dancers' process of finding meaning and experiences in the unfolding situations moment by moment. Slowly they find a story together.
